About Me

Hello! I’m Lori Karnuta

For the past twenty years, I have served as a school counselor supporting students and families from diverse backgrounds. While in this role, I developed a passion for working with parents. Over the years, I have had the privilege of working alongside hundreds of parents as they navigate the challenges and joys of raising children. My own parenting journey has allowed me to reflect on what kind of relationship I want to build with my children.

I hope to share with my clients a way of shifting our parenting perspective that creates opportunities for connecting with our kids, even when it feels clunky and hard.

Once I understood how possible it was to build a relationship with children based on mutual trust, understanding and care, I became deeply passionate about supporting other parents in this life-changing work. As a parent myself, there are times when I seek guidance and support.

Through my training and through my work with parents from all walks of life, I have learned how to show up for my own kids. My hope is to provide clients with the tools and knowledge they need to be the best version of themselves for their children.

Many of the parents I work with want to have meaningful relationships with their children. I hope to help you reach that goal.  I reassure parents frequently that this is truly possible and it is never too late to be the parent you want to be. Yes, parenting can be stressful; however, there are lots of tools and strategies that can help us to feel more confident and find the joy in parenting as well.

I hold a bachelors degree in psychology from Indiana University and a masters degree in school counseling from Purdue University. I am a certified parenting coach through the Jai institute for Parenting. In addition, I have received training in Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACES).
